Reps sound alarm over Killing of 6 persons, abduction of 20 in Gombe’s Akko Communities

By Christiana EkpaThe House of Representatives on Wednesday raised alarm over the persistent banditry attacks on several communities in Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State, which led to the killing of six persons and the abduction of 20 others.
Lawmakers further noted that the repeated assaults have resulted in loss of livelihoods, destruction of properties, and deepening uncertainty across the affected communities.
The House expressed concern that the incidents are a stark reminder of the growing threat to national security and called on security agencies to intensify efforts to adequately protect lives and property.
The House equally urged the Inspector-General of Police to deploy Mobile Police Force squadrons to restore law and order in the affected areas.
The House reaffirmed its commitment to protecting citizens and called for swift and decisive action to prevent further loss of lives in Akko communities.
