Two regional daily editors have been announced among the line-up of speakers for this year’s Society of Editors conference. The Society’s ‘Future of News’ conference takes place at London’s Leonardo Royal Hotel on 17 March, bringing together more than 200 editors and journalists from across the national, regional and broadcast media. The programme will focus on pressures facing editors and reporters today, and the decisions which newsrooms are having to make at pace. Other confirmed speakers include BBC political editor Chris Mason, Daily Mail chief reporter Sam Greenhill, BBC analysis editor Ros Atkins and Sarah Whitehead, director of newsgathering and operations at Sky News. SoE chief executive Dawn Alford said: “Future of News is designed to be practical and relevant for working editors, while also offering lively debate and fresh perspective.
