SWAMPSCOTT — Katy Dupont has been appointed the Town’s new clerk, joining the community after serving in the City of Beverly, where she most recently held the position of assistant city clerk.
Dupont began her career in municipal government in 2019 as an intern with the City of Peabody.
After searching for opportunities through the Massachusetts Municipal Association, she joined the Beverly City Clerk’s Office, where she advanced through several roles.
As she progressed in her career, Dupont said working as a city or town clerk became a professional goal.
“It’s just really adding to my knowledge and becoming more of a well-rounded clerk.”Dupont said she is eager to begin working with Town staff and residents.
