Spread the loveEligible voters in Tamil Nadu have one last day — January 30 — to apply to have their names included in the voter list as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections, election officials announced. The SIR process, which involves door‑to‑door verification and submission of enumeration forms, is aimed at updating and purifying the electoral rolls by adding new voters, removing ineligible names, and correcting existing entries. This revision comes as Tamil Nadu prepares for its Assembly election expected in April–May 2026. So far, over 16 lakh applications to include names on the voter list have been received across Tamil Nadu. Voters are advised to confirm that their names are correctly listed in the final roll after publication, ensuring no errors or omissions would affect their eligibility on election day.
