Prosecutors from the state prosecutor’s office will soon also hold a meeting with investigators from The Hague and potential witnesses in connection with the “Sarajevo Safari” case. According to information from the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, the first indictments against persons suspected of shelling Sarajevo and killing civilians during the longest siege of a city in modern history can be expected this year. It should also be pointed out that the City Council of the City of Sarajevo adopted a decision granting consent for the City of Sarajevo to join the criminal proceedings being conducted before the competent judicial authorities in Milan in the “Sarajevo Safari” case. The Prosecutor’s Office in Milan opened an investigation based on a 17-page criminal complaint by Italian journalist Ezio Gavazzeni and former judge Guido Salvini. The documentary film Sarajevo Safari, which premiered in 2022 at the Al Jazeera Balkans DOC Festival, is now one of the key pieces of evidence in the Italian investigation.
