The Miners Red hockey team defeated Brighton Navy 7-1 on Wednesday night at the County Ice Center in Murray, clinching Park City’s third-straight state championship. The Miners Red jumped out to a 3-1 first period advantage, tacking on four more goals to seal the game in the second period. The Miners Red will face the state champion from the school-unaffiliated playoff bracket on Monday with a trip to the national championships on the line. Sky Canyon and DCI took the ice after Park City’s championship celebrations to vie for that title. “It never gets old winning a state championship,” said Miners Red Head Coach Mike Adamek.
