SubmittedOn Feb. 5, the Rowan Museum will host Christian Nationalism Then and Now, a panel discussion on Christian Nationalism organized by Actions in Faith & Justice. Christian Nationalism is a political ideology that seeks to merge Christianity and a particular type of American identity, distorting both the Christian faith and the United States constitution. Aaron Kepley, historian and director of the Rowan Museum, will present a historical overview of Christian Nationalism, including its history in Rowan County. Dr. Kimberly Clarke Turner will provide theological evidence that refutes the connection of Christian faith with political and economic agendas. Suzanne Parker Miller, founder of Pastors for N.C. Children, will discuss the negative impact of Christian Nationalism on public education and on the wellbeing of children and their families.
