It occurred at the Goodloe Hunt Club, west of Buckingham Court House and near Highway 60 during muzzleloader season on Nov. 12, 2025. The answer came when the large doe got within 50 yards of my stand and then turned broad side towards the loblolly pines away from my stand. I very slowly walked multiple routes over into the pines for about 50 yards, but came out with nothing but briars and beggar lice. The doe had been shot square in the chest but went 80 yards before dropping, per Lee. With a stand sign out system, cell phones (that usually receive in Buckingham), but most importantly a buddy system, it can still be done.
