Rome Man Charged With Involuntary Manslaughter After Burglary Turns Fatal

Anthony Richard Ponto, 53 of Rome, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter after allegedly causing the death of a man while burglarizing his home.
Reports said that while burglarizing the home on East Hermitage Road he was confronted by the resident.
Police said that a physical altercation then occurred and the victim suffered a medical emergency.
The victim later passed away from the emergency.
Investigators added that this was the second time the home had been burglarized by Ponto.
