A Montgomery woman is facing more than a dozen felony charges after she voluntarily surrendered four adult dogs and 10 puppies. Then, on Jan. 6, 2026, the Montgomery Humane Society again received an owner surrender application from Schumacher, according to court records. She also had heavy internal and external parasites and weighed 35 pounds when she should have weighed 50 pounds. Investigators said Shumacher told them she had not fed the dogs in a week but later admitted it had been two weeks. Veterinarians said it appeared the dogs had received poor care for much longer than two weeks.
