Detectives have intensified a crackdown on unlicensed health facilities operating illegally in Nairobi and its environs, as authorities move to protect the public from unsafe and unregulated medical services. Authorities indicated that the suspects will face charges related to operating an unlicensed health institution and practising medicine in an unlicensed facility, offences punishable under the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Act. Meanwhile, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has reiterated its commitment, in collaboration with KMPDC, to dismantling illegal health facilities nationwide and urged members of the public to report suspected quack practitioners through designated anonymous channels. As his health worsened, he returned to the clinic seeking medical assistance and a referral letter.
