Spread the wordThe United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) Wednesday trained Kano journalists on standard reporting of Industrial Energy Efficiency (IEE) as well as Resource Efficient Cleaner Production (RECP) project in Nigeria. The national coordinator of the project, Jacob Oladipo told journalists that they are strong stakeholders in the project. Delivering a paper on the fundamentals of IEE and its impact on sustainability, the national expert of the project, Engr. Obafemi Adejumoh, explained that the general idea behind the project was to encourage industries to learn how to properly utilise energy by avoiding unnecessary wastage. The expert mentioned that, “Industries that adopt the GEF-UNIDO, IEE and RECP can use energy to either increase their output or reduce energy to maintain the same output.”More so, industries adopting GEF-UNIDO have even better business opportunities marketing their goods in countries that are signatories to UNIDO.
