Former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has announced plans to reserve at least ten national-level appointments for every constituency should he lead an NPP government in the future. The proposal, which he described as the “one constituency, ten appointments” initiative, is intended to deepen grassroots participation in governance and strengthen party structures at the local level. These appointments, he explained, would include ministers and deputy ministers of state, chief executive officers and their deputies, ambassadors and deputy ambassadors, as well as board positions. As a future President of Ghana, God willing, I will dedicate 3,000 out of 7,000 national appointments to constituencies nationwide." “Every constituency will get at least 10 national-level appointments per constituency, including ministers of state, deputy ministers, CEOs, deputy CEOs, Ambassadors, Deputy Ambassadors, Board of Directors, amongst others,” he promised.
