Two former licensees at Ivy, a popular nightclub in Sydney’s CBD, have been banned from holding a liquor licence for one-year after failing to record multiple cases of severe intoxication.
CCTV footage showed on-site medical staff managed more than 170 medical incidents between December 2021 and August 2022.
Despite this, multiple incidents which included severe intoxication, were not entered into Ivy’s incident register despite it being legally required.
Medical staff working on-site recorded 46 incidents “noting” intoxication and 98 where medical treatment was required.
ILGA’s findings noted the significant number of serious medical incidents identified during the period under investigation.
