The state House will have another vacancy - taking the 203-seat chamber down to 198 members - as Rep. Seth Grove, R-York County, announced Wednesday that he would be stepping down effective at the end of this week. Grove, first elected to the western York County seat in 2008, announced last year that he would not be seeking re-election in 2026. Grove subsequently caught some flak for accepting the job before resigning from the legislature, given the potential conflicts of interest. Four other House members resigned at the end of last year after winning other offices in the 2025 election, so once Grove departs, the House will be short five members. Special elections to fill the four seats for the remainder of their terms are scheduled for February and March.
