She has built a business selling her one-of-a-kind jewelry called Denchy C.O.A.L. He eventually started his own company, Denchy Coal Company, in 1934, and at its peak he owned seven anthracite mines. During this time she began making anthracite jewelry and displaying it at First Friday exhibits. With her jewelry business, Denchy honors her own family heritage as well as the legacy of coal miners in the area. She will discuss anthracite mining heritage culture and display mining artifacts from her personal collection.
