OREM — A new scam is targeting Utahns selling anything on any online marketplace with a convincing payment trick. Scott Swain listed a rear bicycle basket on an online classified. The text said Swain would need to verify his Venmo account to be able to accept payment from a business account. “I’ve been able to accept money from businesses in the past,” he said. “Then I said this definitely sounds like a scam and that was the end of it.”
