Due to dangerous road conditions caused by an ongoing winter storm, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has ordered the closure of state office buildings except for critical operations on Thursday, January 29, 2026.
State officials say the decision was made to protect the safety of employees and the public as snow, ice, and freezing temperatures continue to impact travel across much of Arkansas.
Essential and critical operations will remain open to ensure continuity of public services, including public safety, emergency response, and essential infrastructure functions.
Motorists are urged to use caution if travel is necessary and to continue monitoring weather and road condition updates.
Residents and organizations who have weather-related closures, delays, or community updates they would like shared across the ArkansasRadio.com radio stations can submit their information at:👉 https://arkansasradio.com/submit-event/Stay tuned to your ArkansasRadio.com station and ArkansasRadio.com for continuing winter weather updates.
