Traffic is being diverted and lanes remain closed on portions of Interstate 55 and Interstate 22 as crews work to remove ice and improve hazardous road conditions in north Mississippi. According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the Commercial Transportation Enforcement Division is diverting traffic on Interstate 55 northbound from Exit 243 in Batesville to the Tennessee state line. Traffic is also being diverted on Interstate 22 westbound from Exit 21 in Red Banks to the Tennessee state line. Officials warn motorists that anyone who travels through these areas or attempts to bypass barricades does so at their own risk, as conditions remain potentially dangerous. Crews will continue working throughout the day to clear Interstate 22 and the left lane of Interstate 55.
