Harm Reduction Victoria, which is part of the team running the mobile drug testing trial at 10 festivals across the state, said in a submission to the coroner that practices at some events such as regular checks by staff looking for signs of drug use in the toilets, prohibiting people from bringing in water, long lines to access water, random 'pat down' searches of attendees, and security-led responses to people who may be experiencing the effects of drugs, might contribute to mistrust and fear among attendees.
