BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The region-wide shortage of road salt continues to challenge Vermont road crews, and now, the Queen City is reporting a shortage. The city of Burlington’s Public Works Department said on social media that it lightly salted the roads during the recent storm, knowing future supplies are uncertain. Going forward, a majority of salt usage will be on main roads and hills. The department adds that it is working to find another salt supplier, or solution, and asks for your patience and care while traveling.
