From January 1, eligible families have seen the payment increase to $400 per student, up from $154 for primary students and $256 for secondary students.
The Victorian Budget 2025-26 is putting $152.3 million into the program, making it easier for more kids to take part in school activities.
Families with more than one child at the same school can include all of them on a single application form.
Schools are also required to let families know the fund is available, often through newsletters, and the money must be used to directly benefit the student.
For families, this means more opportunities for kids to get out of the classroom, try new activities, and make memories that last a lifetime — with less financial stress.
