Australian brushtails are generally brown in colour, with flattish faces, while the American opossum, also known as the Virginia opossum, has a longer white face and a grey body. It’s known to carry multiple young on its back horizontally, just like the Woolworth’s toy. The Woolworths toy is thought to look more like an American opossum.
