Kottayam: MLA Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan received a virtual arrest threat via WhatsApp. The caller claimed to be from the Mumbai Police and threatened Radhakrishnan over a case allegedly registered in Mumbai. Since the caller spoke in a mixture of Hindi and broken English, Radhakrishnan immediately realised it was a scam, he told the media. Following the threat, Radhakrishnan filed a complaint with the State Police Chief. The DGP’s office confirmed that an investigation has begun, focusing on the number and location from which the calls were made.
