Up North: Let's Move at the Depot strives to do more than just help kids burn energyDespite the frigid temperatures, hundreds of kids spent their Sunday unbothered thanks to Let’s Move at the Depot. It’s a free program where organizations from around the community give children a chance to burn off some energy. “Our goal for this event is just to give kids an opportunity to get out of the house in the winter and live healthy and active lifestyles,” said Alivia Nelson, program director for Grandma’s Marathon. At the same time, everyone worked collectively to build a space that felt warm even in the dead of winter. “I think we’ve had some great attendance today and a lot of families are excited to get out of the house and burn off some energy,” said Nelson.
