Erin Coyle, 17, from Builth Wells will take on the ABP Newport 10K as part of her recovery journey following her diagnosis and treatment in 2025. Miss Coyle underwent three surgeries at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, including one that lasted 14 and a half hours and had to learn to walk again. She is now focusing on the Newport 10K as a positive goal. The race is part of the ABP Newport Marathon Festival, which also includes marathon, half marathon, and junior events. Matt Newman, chief executive of event organisers Run 4 Wales, said: "Hearing of Erin’s goal to take on the ABP Newport 10K as part of her recovery is so inspiring.
