Louis Davies, a 37-year-old mental health worker, was diagnosed in 2020 with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (PPMS).
Mr Davies said: "I was basically told to expect to be in a wheelchair in 5 years’ time.
His journey led him to Hyrox, a global fitness competition with six adaptive categories for athletes with different needs.
As an openly trans man, Mr Davies believes he is the first open trans athlete to have won his Hyrox category.
Mr Davies now works in a lived experience role with Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, helping others with their mental health.
