The funding comes as part of the Welsh Labour Government’s recently passed £27.5 billion budget, which includes £400 million in new spending. Eluned Morgan, leader of Welsh Labour, said: "This is a Welsh Labour budget written by a Welsh Labour government based on our Labour values - fairness, stability, delivery. Following weeks of negotiations with Plaid Cymru, the budget passed in the Senedd, avoiding what was described as the 'cliff-edge of a no vote and crippling cuts to councils.' The budget includes an additional £112.8 million for councils, ensuring no local authority in Wales faces cuts. "Only Welsh Labour can take responsibility for the delivering this budget and for delivering for Wales", Ms Morgan said.
