A new report from the Senedd’s Children, Young People and Education Committee found that workload is hampering teacher recruitment and retention. She highlighted the impact of limited resources, including for pupils needing specialist provision. NAHT Cymru is urging the Welsh Government to take urgent action. Ms Doel said: "We urge the Welsh Government to invest in creating the conditions where teachers and leaders feel valued and supported. That means managing their workload, freeing them up to focus on teaching and learning, and paying them appropriately."
