Article contentOn Sunday, October 5, 2026, the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police was called to a structure fire in Virginiatown where a residence was engulfed in smoke and flames. The residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire. As a result of the investigation, Pierre MATTE, a 58-year-old of Virginiatown has been arrested and charged with arson – damage to property.
