KENT COUNTY, MI – A man is facing three charges of first-degree murder in the killing of two teens and their mother in a Grand Rapids home. Charles Broomfield, 44, is accused of killing Michael Kilpatrick, 13, Cameron Kilpatrick, 15, and their mom, Jacqueline Neill. Grand Rapids police announced Tuesday, Jan. 27, that a person of interest was in police custody. Early on, police said the killings did not appear to be a murder-suicide, based in part on footprints in the snowThe suspect awaits arraignment in Grand Rapids District Court. “We appreciate the outpouring of love from the greater Grand Rapids community during our darkest hour.”The brothers were students at Kenowa Hills Public Schools.
