A £16,000 investment from the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is being used to upgrade Torfaen’s CCTV network in Blaenavon, Garndiffaith, Pontypool and Trevethin, supporting local community safety initiatives.
Jane Mudd, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent, said: "This investment will support the police and the local council to protect our communities and keep them safe.
The funding is part of a broader £50,000 package for Gwent’s Community Safety Partnerships, which also includes support for increased safety patrols, business engagement, and youth activities.
"Together, we can make a difference and make our communities safer, nicer places to live, work and visit."
Chief Inspector Stevie Warden said: "This welcomed investment into Torfaen's CCTV network will further enhance our work as part of the community safety partnership, enabling us bring offenders to justice and keep our communities safe."
