The Lafayette County Commission has announced the approval of the Fiscal Year 2026 budget after several weeks of cutting and consolidation. The budget includes $5,724,917 in anticipated General Revenue and estimated expenditures of $6,881,788. The estimated cash carryover at the end of 2026 will be $220,200.84. Several county departments were required to lower expenditures in 2026 to help balance the budget.
