In what The Hollywood Reporter is calling an “unprecedented deal,” the rights to bestselling fantasy author Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere books have been acquired by Apple. Sanderson’s Cosmere universe includes his “Mistborn” series, which Apple is reportedly eying for a film adaptation, and the “Stormlight Archive” series, which will likely be adapted as a television series, per The Hollywood Reporter. It also comes on the heels of his fifth annual fan convention, Dragonsteel Nexus, which took place in December in Salt Lake City. Sanderson’s next Dragonsteel Nexus fan convention is already scheduled for Dec. 3-5 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, though tickets are not yet on sale.
