The location of the Puerto Montt Chile Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was announced Monday by the First Presidency in a news release published on ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
(And) we come to know him,” said the late Church President Russell M. Nelson, upon announcing the Puerto Montt temple and 16 others in October 2024 general conference.
Planned to be a single-story edifice of nearly 18,500 square feet, the Puerto Montt temple will help serve the South American country’s more than 613,000 Latter-day Saints.
Another Latter-day Saint temple in Chile has been in construction since August 2024, and the Viña del Mar Chile Temple currently sits alongside the Puerto Montt temple in planning and design stages.
