ST. PAUL — A group of North Dakota lawmakers are heading to the Minnesota State Capitol on Thursday, Jan. 29, for a day of solidarity over federal enforcement concerns. The day will include a legislative hearing on federal impacts, a Capitol press conference and a national virtual press call. ADVERTISEMENTSen. Ryan Braunberger, D-Fargo, said the gathering is meant to push back against what lawmakers see as federal overreach, and to show support for Minnesota communities following recent deadly encounters involving federal agents. "There's always been this push and pull between the federal and state rights, and right now, I think the federal government is really overstepping their bounds in almost a violent way," Braunberger said. More than 50 legislators from 15 states plan on visiting St. Paul on Thursday.
