Emergency Recovery Fund To Support Hard-Hit CommunitiesWhangarei District Council is establishing an emergency recovery fund for people affected by January’s severe weather events.
Mayor Ken Couper says he has personally witnessed the damage caused by the successive weather events.
“It’s been a really tough time for many in these communities and the emergency recovery fund is a small but vital part of the response.
Further information on the Emergency Recovery Fund criteria and how to apply will be available from Monday 2 February 2026.
