Junior Sharon Deng was elected Tuesday to be Duke University Union president and junior Charlotte Sutcliffe to be executive vice president for the 2026-27 academic year. Committees include Duke Student Broadcasting (DSB), Small Town Records and Freewater Productions. Deng currently serves as the DUU vice president of media, overseeing four committees including Duke Student Broadcasting, Freewater Productions, Small Town Records and WXDU. Yazan Azzam, a sophomore and Small Town Records co-chair, echoed this excitement about Deng’s leadership. Sutcliffe will assume the executive vice president role after completing her current term as vice president of recurring events, where she oversees VisArts, Duke@Nite, Coffeehouse, Jazz@ and Freewater Presentations.
