What began as an outing with a small group of friends turned into sledding in the Duke gardens with a group of more than 30 students. Sophomore Lauren Blake described her snow day as slower but equally restorative. Blake felt the snow day fostered a stronger sense of community, particularly through an RA-organized brunch event in Few Quad, where residents enjoyed cinnamon rolls together. Even though Smith had gone grocery shopping and had food in her apartment, the inability to get to West Campus left her with limited dining options.
