Spread the wordThe Zamfara State Police Command has arrested a suspect, Mustapha Mohammad, 38, in connection with unlawful possession of suspected explosive materials. The arrest was made on January 27, 2026 about 4:15 pm by operatives of the Task Force on Illegal Mining, led by ASP Aminu Aliyu. “The search led to the recovery of 954 pieces of suspected explosive materials concealed in polyethylene bags,” the PPRO said. Abubakar further stated that preliminary investigations suggest that the materials were intended for use by bandits as improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The suspect is currently in police custody, and the exhibits have been handed over to the Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team for safe custody and detailed analysis.
