Spread the wordThe Nigeria Police, Enugu State Command, has arraigned a social media user, Chijinkem Ugwuanyi (aged 41), before a Magistrate Court in Enugu over alleged defamatory publication and cyberbullying/stalking on Facebook against the person and office of the Secretary to the Enugu State Government (SSG), Prof. Chidiebere Onyia. The arraignment took place on Tuesday in Enugu. According to Ndukwe, the post alleged that the SSG stated: “Some people are meant to be used to win elections, while some are meant to be given appointments and political dividends,” and the suspect attached the photograph of the SSG to the post. Ndukwe stated that, “the suspect admitted to making the publication but failed to provide any proof that the SSG made such a statement. Consequently, he was remanded in the Correctional Centre, while the case file was transmitted to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice, as ordered by the court.”
