Chandigarh | January 2026 – In a significant move aimed at supporting Sikh pilgrims, a direct flight service between Hisar (Haryana) and Nanded Sahib (Maharashtra) has been launched, making travel to Takht Sri Hazur Sahib faster and more accessible.
60% Fare Subsidy for PilgrimsAccording to officials, the Haryana government has announced a fare subsidy of up to 60% for passengers travelling on this route.
The subsidy aims to ensure that the flight remains affordable, especially for elderly pilgrims and families travelling for religious purposes.
The Hisar–Nanded flight significantly reduces travel time, which earlier could take 20–24 hours by road or train, depending on connectivity.
Community ResponseMany in the Sikh community have described the move as a positive step towards recognising the needs of pilgrims, while also calling for similar connectivity to other major Sikh religious sites.
