The job cuts affect roles across its store support center, but are primarily concentrated on its technology organization, according to a company spokesperson.
The job cuts come two months after Home Depot missed expectations for the third quarter and cut its full-year profit guidance.
The retail industry remains one of the “hardest hit” sectors when it comes to job cuts, according to a November report from Challenger, Gray & Christmas.
From January to October last year, the industry saw 88,664 job cuts, up 145% from the same period in 2024.
