(ABC 6 News) – Olmsted County cities, including Rochester, Byron, and Chatfield, helped finalize a plan to improve safety on local roads, starting this year. The City of Chatfield highlighted the intersection of Highway 30 and Highway 52, while Olmsted County as a whole worked to add rural corridors to the priority list — County Road 3 near Country Club Road, County Road 11 between Highway 14 and Silver Creek Road, Bamber Valley Road SW from Mayowood to County Road 125, and County Road 10 north of Dover. As many of the identified road sections are managed by multiple groups, ROCOG recommended that city and county organizations work together to secure grant and federal funding for future development. The SS4All project hopes to reduce fatal crashes from an average of 442 in 2020-2024, to 352 in 2026 and not more than 25 by 2035.
