17 New Mexico men’s golf team concluded its first event of the spring on Wednesday with the third round of the Southwestern Invitational at North Ranch Country Club. The Lobos shot 12-over during the final round to climb one spot to seventh place at 30-over amongst an elite field that included 11 top-60 teams. 15 Pepperdine, the tournament’s host, was the only team to finish under par, winning with a total of 11-under. Mesa Falleur had the low round of the day for New Mexico, carding a 2-over 72 to finish at 10-over. The Lobos will return to action Feb. 12-14 with the John Burns Intercollegiate on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.
