February 2 marks National Energy Assistance Day, an effort to raise awareness about vital heating assistance programs for households in need.
As winter temperatures persist in Wyoming, now is the time to apply for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) before the April 30 deadline.
So far this heating season, LIEAP has helped 5,414 households with a total of $1.5 million in assistance.
The need for such energy assistance remains significant in Wyoming.
Wyoming households must meet LIEAP income requirements, with a limit of up to 60% of the state’s median income.
