Improper, worn-out or ill-fitting shoes are linked to a variety of ailments, ranging from ingrown toenails and blisters to plantar fasciitis and stress fractures. Podiatrist Dr. Chris Dietzman says it’s fairly simple: Wearing the wrong type of shoe for an activity or shoes that are the wrong size can lead to problems.
