MITCHELL — Two defendants in a nine-person Mitchell-area cocaine distribution case failed to appear Tuesday as scheduled, prompting new orders from the court. ADVERTISEMENTHernandez faces four charges: conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, distribution of a controlled substance, and distribution in a drug-free zone, all Class 4 felonies, and possession of a controlled substance, a Class 5 felony. Medrano-Eudales faces conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, distribution of a controlled substance, and distribution in a drug-free zone, all Class 4 felonies, as well as possession of a controlled substance, a Class 5 felony. Cartagena faces a single Class 4 felony charge of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. Other defendants in the case include Josselin Zuniga, who also faces possible immigration issues and potential deportation, Michael Morrison, Jorge Prendes, Estuardo Corado, and Timothy Antonie.
