The Central Power Purchasing Agency has filed a request with the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) seeking an increase in electricity tariffs for December. In terms of the energy mix, hydel power accounted for 18.07 percent of total electricity generation during the month. Electricity generation from local coal stood at 13.99 percent, while imported coal contributed 10.13 percent. Power generation from natural gas was recorded at 11.20 percent, while imported LNG accounted for 17.24 percent of total output. Nuclear power contributed the largest share, at 25.05 percent of total electricity generation in December.
