A fire at a seniors’ residence in Montreal’s Anjou borough left a 76-year-old woman fighting for her life Tuesday evening.
Emergency crews were called to the building on Rondeau Ave., near De La Vérendrye Ave., shortly before 6 p.m. after reports of smoke and flames.
Firefighters located the woman unresponsive inside her fourth-floor apartment.
Paramedics provided life-saving measures at the scene before rushing her to hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
Montreal police confirmed the blaze began inside a fourth-floor unit.
